Research

User Interview

To have a solid base for Zena, there is the need for the team to have a deeper understanding of what the users frustrations are.  Also, having in mind that Zena transcends a particular locational scope, the team ventured into recruiting participants from different countries.

These participants includes users who have or has been sending and receiving funds online locally and internationally. As well as participant who at one time or the other needed to buy or redeem vouchers.

A moderated interview was conducted virtually via zoom and participants were asked a series of open ended questions which is to enable them talk more about their experiences. With the permission of the participants, the sessions were recorded for future analysis. Insights were also drawn from the responses.

User Persona

After analyzing the responses of our participants from the interview, we were able to gain an understanding of our users goals as well as pain points. Two groups of common users emerged from this analysis. Below are the common group of users.

User Flow

To give the users a seamless and great user experience, the team constructed the user flow for Zena. This helped us to communicate the entry and exit points while keeping the users as the focus.

Wireframes

With the flow chart completed, the team came up with the lo-fi wireframes and after checking for corrections, the Hi-fi wireframe was drawn up.

Usability Testing

We carried out the usability testing using the low-fidelity prototype. Participants were asked to perform series of tasks ranging from registration to buying and redeeming vouchers. Analysis of the  data was made.

Iterations

Before starting the final UI mockups, feedbacks gotten analyzed during the usability testing was implemented and used in refining the designs. Afterwards, the mood board was created as well as the design system. With different members of the team working on the different aspect of the design system such as the buttons, typography, icons, inputs, navigations.
